Our school has launched a remote teaching exchangeprogram with the Chinese School in Portsmouth, UK

In recent years, our school has developed a series of traditional culture-themed courses under the guidance of research on financial literacy education. We have carefully produced and launched a 10-episode series of micro-videos titled "Financial Literacy Education in Traditional Culture." At the same time, as a base for the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, the school has developed micro-video teaching courses on intangible cultural arts such as "Seal Carving" and "Paper Cutting."

Recently, our school conducted a unique remote teaching activity for students at the Chinese school in Portsmouth, UK, through online classes. This created a platform for in-depth dialogue to facilitate cultural education exchanges between China and the UK, promoting the two-way integration of cross-cultural educational resources.

Students from four classes at the Portsmouth Chinese school participated in the relevant courses. The director of our Intelligent Finance Department, Xiao Yingzi, combined the concept of wealth in traditional culture with typical case analyses and classic literature interpretations, elaborating on the principle "A gentleman loves wealth, but obtains it through the right way." She explained the ethical views on wealth in Chinese traditional culture in an accessible manner, emphasizing the financial management approach that prioritizes integrity and balances righteousness and profit, which sparked great interest among the students.

Teacher Zhang Yu from the Public Foundations Department focused on "Seal Character Design and Carving," systematically introducing the development history and aesthetic characteristics of seal script art. During the practical session, she detailed the writing skills of seal script and demonstrated how to use professional carving knives to engrave personalized seals on rubber materials. This immersive artistic experience not only equipped overseas students with the basic skills of seal carving but also allowed them to deeply appreciate the spiritual connotations of traditional Chinese art.

This remote teaching initiative provided excellent resources for Chinese cultural learning to students in the UK and showcased the professional qualities of our teachers as well as their spirit of cultural inheritance and innovation. Teachers and parents involved in the course expressed high praise for the program. In the future, our school will continue to deepen international educational cooperation and promote Chinese culture globally through diverse course designs, contributing to the enhancement of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
