Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic Lao Students Visit Our School for Exchange Activities
On April 21st, our Datansha campus welcomed teachers from Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic and over forty enthusiastic representatives of Laotian international students. Our school's leaders and teachers, including Secretary Chen Yanpin, Principal Peng Wenbin, Director Liang Zhenwen of the Cooperation and Exchange Office, and Deputy Director Qu Feng, warmly received the visitors.
Principal Peng Wenbin extended a warm welcome to the teachers from Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic and the Laotian international students. Principal Peng introduced the basic situation of the school, its educational philosophy, and its unique characteristics, expressing hope for close cooperation between our school and Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic to enhance the depth of international exchange and cooperation between the two institutions. Vice Dean Xiang Chengjun of the International Cooperation College at Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic expressed gratitude for our school's warm reception. He stated that he is very willing to facilitate close exchanges between the two schools and also welcomed our teachers and students to visit the Polytechnic for more diverse learning and exchange activities.

In order to deepen the understanding of each other's cultures among Chinese and Lao students, the students from both schools have meticulously prepared a variety of artistic performances. Our school's folk music ensemble performed "The Girl from Dabancheng" using various instruments; the choir students beautifully sang "Fireworks Over the City"; the students from the special class showcased a captivating dance performance titled "The Beauty of Xinjiang's Mountains and Rivers"; and the club students brought an energetic cheerleading routine. The Lao students contributed with an exotic dance performance called "Welcome to Laos," and finally, under the leadership of the dean, all Lao international students joined in a chorus, with teachers and students singing together, bringing the atmosphere to a climax.

The second part of the exchange activity: Our school's football club students held a friendly football match with Laotian international students from Guangzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College at our school's football field. After a brief warm-up, the friendly match kicked off with the referee's sharp whistle. Despite the rainy conditions, the players quickly got into the game, both attacking and defending. Adhering to the principle of "friendship first, competition second," both teams engaged in friendly competition, showcasing their skills. However, due to the heavy rain and worsening weather, the match had to be called off early. Although there was no winner or loser, the players displayed their skills and prowess on the field, fully demonstrating the sunny, vibrant, and positive team spirit of both sides.

This exchange program not only provides Laotian students with an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese education and culture, but also offers our faculty and students a window into the educational systems and cultures of Laos and Southeast Asia. Exchange programs are of great significance in enhancing mutual understanding, promoting the internationalization of education, and cultivating skilled professionals with a global perspective. Our university looks forward to establishing a deeper cooperative relationship with Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic and welcomes more international students to visit our campus. Together, we can advance the internationalization of education and contribute to the development of our university as a high-level institution.
